We took a red eye to Philadelphia, so day 1 was little more than a bad flight that was late and crowded. We checked into the Fairfield Inn at 2:30am, the staff was very courteous and understanding. We slept in after our late flight, we packed up and headed out the door of the hotel in Philadelphia and almost turned right around. It was only 11:00am, yet it was close to 100 degrees and 90% humidity. The drive down to Washington DC was very pretty though. The highway is lined with beautiful trees and a lovely greenbelt down the center. It was so green the whole drive. We stopped for lunch just n...
