You can't miss NA'ALEHU as you drive through Ka'u. Eight miles south of Punalu'u, it lines each side of the highway for around half a mile, without stretching very far away from the central ribbon. Although it bills itself as "America's southernmost town," Na'alehu offers little to induce drivers to stop. Whittington Beach Park , a couple of miles outside it to the north, is not so much a beach as a picnic ground, and the only reason to call in at Na'alehu is for a quick lunch.
