After days (weeks?) of goodbyes, we finally got our car packed at around 3pm on Saturday. We took a quick drive down to the ocean to say a final goodbye to the beach. We then grabbed sandwiches at Bay Cities Deli, our favorite sandwich place in Santa Monica, and started our trip west to Las Vegas. The first 30 miles took about 1 hour 40 minutes. The remaining 240 miles only took about 3 hours (had to make up some time). We checked into Mandalay Bay at around 8pm, and caught a nice break.
