Best lunch place in Jackson, with fresh food and an excellent wine list. Portions are too large for us old folks, so we take half home for tomorrow's lunch. They recently changed format, with waitresses to take your order and deliver your food.
Have had lunch here a few times and it's been good. We decided to try dinner last Friday nite on the way to Jackson's
Open House. We were there at 5:00 with reservations. We decided to sit towards the back since it gets very cold near the front when the door is opened. The service was just OK - granted there was only one waiter for ten tables with two bus persons helping. Then the noise from the kitchen was ridiculously loud. The Quiche was very good while my husband's ribs were very fatty atop very salty fries.
We do like this place but think maybe the owners might have been in the fast food business.
The lunch’s are average, you can get a good sandwich. But the dinners are poor. We went twice this last week, and both times, the dinner meals were terrible. The first meal was a stir fry. The meal consisted of the normal mix of dinner vegetables they use as a side, placed atop tepid white rice, and way too much sauce poured over the top of it all. The second meal was a salmon steak. The salmon steak came out the kitchen looking like a fish stick, Instead of being lightly seared on the top and bottom with pink tinder middle, the entire outside had been coated and cooked all over to the point it resembled a very expensive fish stick. To top it off, it came out with tartar sauce. It’s obvious that there is no chef, and the cook has no style or knowledge in his craft.
