I go here often for their tasty 911 roll and miso. They give you free edamame and dessert of apples and chocolate with peanut butter, which I think is very cool. However some of the other rolls did not taste that great in my opinion. For example their Phili rolls suck and I don't think much of their California rolls. Other than that great prices, great atmosphere for birthdays!!
Went here for early supper with a friend. Service was adequate. Server brought little bowl of edamame pods for a starter. Then we ordered different rolls to share. I got the cucumber roll which was beautifully presented and absolutely wonderful. It was filled with fresh crab and a delicious sauce was drizzled over. I had miso soup, which was lukewarm but tasted ok. My friend had rainbow roll, which she loved and said she orders every time she goes there. It also was a beautiful presentation, almost too pretty to eat! We ordered Sapporo beer and you get a VERY large bottle during happy hour. One bottle would be fine for 2 people. After the meal, we were served a lovely thin sliced apple standing in a bed of homemade peanut butter with chocolate sauce drizzled over.
I loved it and found it to be very good sushi with incredibly artistic presentation. Wouldn't order the miso soup again, but will definitely go there again for sushi. The rolls are very inexpensive, for the quality.
I give it 4 stars (out of 5).
i went here with my friend and it was great! i went back again to order the same thing because i was craving it! when i got my food it was TERRIBLE. they are not consistent. it looked nothing like what i ordered last time, they did a lazy job on it and it affected how it tasted. i think my host was rude as well. i guess they will try to see if you want to spend a lot of money and only then will they actually treat you well. now i will be going somewhere else to get my sushi!
uozumi is great and CONSISTENT on their orders (on palmdale blvd) they also serve more/tastier food with your sushi.
My family and I enjoy this restaurant. The Happy Hour is a great deal. It would be nice if they'd change it up once in awhile. The rolls are huge, more than a mouthful so be prepared to not be dainty or classy when you are eating them. The food is tasty and we enjoy the decor and atmosphere.
The biggest problem we have here is that we (going once a week) have inconsistent service. When the older Japanese women are there we are serviced very well, when the younger girls are there they would rather stare out the window and wait to be called over.
The service alone might deter me from continuing my weekly patronage. I expect good service, especially at sushi when you're sitting waiting to order your next entree or drink and no one is noticing you, so watching your waitress avoid eye contact with you (and then expect 20%) is unaccepatble. Owner seems to be concerned, but he needs to get rid of the dead weight in the service area. I've been there with 5 tables and 3 waitresses and still had bad service.
Good food though.
Let me start by saying, I hate sushi. My husband absolutely loves it though. He, of course, had sushi, I had some fried pork chop. The pork chop was SOOOO thin that you couldn't even taste it. With that, you get plain white rice, fried rice would have been a nice little extra. My husband likes the sushi, but said Big Tuna is much better.
I agree with Crazy-loco, I don't see how anyone could give this place just one star. We went there a couple weeks ago and I must say it was delicious! I can usually eat 2-3 rolls at other places but I only had 1 and was really full! The price is even cheaper than other places and the portions are so big! My husband even got full with his beef & chicken teriyaki combination plate and he never gets full! The customer service is great as well. We live in Inglewood and we would drive to Palmdale just to eat at this place! Highly recommended for everyone.
I don't know why this place would be given one star by anyone. This is an awesome place to eat with huge portions for the same prices you might expect at other sushi places. Everything I've tried so far has been delicious, the atmosphere is lively, the service is great, and they will politely explain any dish you might be unfamiliar with.
Definitely a perfect ten.
We used to go to Love sushi in Canyon Country, and were stroked when they opened one here in Palmdale. My hubby and I share our rolls and usually eat like 4 between us. We can hardly fit 2 down here they are so big and delicious.
