Busy place on a Friday night. Love the atmosphere, and the food was awesome....even the salad! They have kept the charm of the great old mansion and made it feel fresh, clean and new. The basement bar is super too.
The Miller House has been a consistent pleasure. I simply do not enjoy myself as much anywhere else in town. Even when the place is slammed the staff is always friendly and there is not a cramped feel so I can enjoy myself, my company, and most importantly my course. When I've brought a guest they have thanked me for the experience. The staff is always readily accessible and readily accommodating if there is a want or need. The place is kept very clean. The seasonal menu is well thought out and carefully selected, just ask. I highly recommend the grilled ham and gouda sandwich. They have an excellent selection of beverages to go with this. I recommend the Castle Rock Pinot Noir. You can never make a call about a place by one visit. However, from the very first visit I have consistently been pleased which ensures my return time and time again. I would recommend everyone visit The Miller House. Its a great place to take new visitors to the Owensboro Area. It has an ambience of fusion that is pleasing to the palate and the eyes. It is an experience of the traditional Ol' South with a culture of taste and service fusing perfectly with a contemporary artistic flair of class and beauty. Go and see for yourself. I am going right now. Cheers.
I went to the Miller House last Friday and it was a disaster the moment we got there. We had 7pm reservations and we did not get seated until 7:30. After we were seated, no one acknowledged we were there until a waiter came to get our drink orders at 7:50. I eventually got to order a Chicken Caesar salad. At 8:45 when the salad came, it had no Caesar dressing on it. When I asked the waiter to bring some dressing, he informed me that they had no Caesar dressing. I understand that things happen and a restaurant will run out of things from time to time. But why would you bring a salad to customer and hope that they would not notice the lack of dressing. Only a moron or a three-year-old could screw up a salad. I am assuming one or the other was working in the kitchen that night. I am not asking a free hand-out, but the only thing I got in return was a free crappy salad and a new-found hatred for this restaurant. I want to personally thank the management of the Miller House for the free five dollar salad.
The only thing that gives me any satisfaction from this ordeal is that at this rate, the Miller House won't be in business for long.
If very mediocre food coupled with horrid customer service is your cup of tea, I highly recommend the Miller House.
