i have eaten at this place on several occasions and the food is nothing short of spectacular.in a town where most people think the best mexican is all thoes other chain rest.this is by far a refresing change of pace and some real good authentic food.
the tamles are soft and delicate on the outside and savory on the inside, they make this dish with zucchinni, onions and peppers in this red sauce that is cooked to perfection with so much flavor too, it is severed with rice nothing fancy there but each grain is spereate and cooked to the right texture, along with some of the best refried beans around, none of that canned stuff here. There cheese dip puts shortys espinaca to shame, the chips are actually cut up fresh corn tortillas that are nice and thich, with the right amount of salt, they stand up to the dip as well as the salsa and do not crumble and break with ease.
i love the fact that is is a small venue with an open kitchen right there you can watch the cook (who is a very friendly guy)preparing fresh food and you can smell it cooking, some nice lating music in the back ground not to loud, but just enough to get your toes tapping.
the menu is not overly huge ,but what they server they server hot adnd fresh and by keeping it simple like they do they can concentrate on the quality and quanity.
please do not let the location and the look of the area cause you pass this gem up,you will be very glad you stopped, you can have a beer while wating for your food or try one of their unique flavored soda's that are not just domestics.
i have brought several friends there and we have returned many times and will continue to frequent this place.
one last thing you can not beat the prices for what you will receive... Please try them out and see.
the staff is also more than willing to help you with any questions or issues.
