Ate there last night after reading great reviews on google and was very disappointed w/ the service and food. Gill was very nice, just a little too chit chatty. He took our order and then the waitress would come over and ask again, same with the food. And then told us to tell her what we ordered. When our food came out, I was positive they had given me the wrong dish but couldn't get the attention of Gill or the server to ask. We were in the middle of eating and the waitress practically put her face touching mine and asked if we wanted it taken away. Then when she eventually did box everything up, she mixed the two dishes together in one container and forgot our leftover rice. Besides the horrible service, the food wasn't spicy at all even though we made it very clear we liked it to be so hot we cry. Definitely will never recommend this place or go back. India Palace on S. Willow Street is much better, taste wise, service wise, and price wise.
Excellent food. Have tried many Indian restaurants in NH and MA. However, the food at Gill's is undoubtedly the best. It's a perfect blend of home made and restaurant style food. What makes the food so great is that the veggies and meat gravy is not full of cream like most Indian restaurants serve. Gill's food is indeed more healthy as it is more authentic and has less cream. The starters are amazing. And I love the Tandoori Chicken served at Gill's - Infact I guess everyone does as far as I know. The owner Gill is a great guy and is indeed very friendly. He ensures that he introduces himself to all customers and makes sure they are well served and enjoy the meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes Indian food. Enjoy.
I'm sure about Alex's review...everytime I've been to Gill's, the service was excellent. Gill himself even came out of the kitchen to see how the meal was.
As far as the food...I've never had a bad meal. The pakoras and samosas are superb. The butter chicken was the best I've had in the area, including many of Boston's Indian establishments. My dining partner had the Chicken Tikka Massala, which had a gorgeously rich and bright sauce. I recommend this place to anyone in Manchester looking for Indian.
Worst restaurent ever as the customer service is ridiculous....the food does not even match the indian standards at all as its worst restaurent i have came across my life since i am a traveler freak... I persoanlly belive the food is over charged The restroom aint clean either....So hope you guys can make the decsion before hand
