The Shrimp Boat is simply the best restaurant in Bay County. I cannot fathom the poor reviews posted, except to think that perhaps they were written by the competition. We have been there several times and every time the service was excellent and the food delicious. Tonight I had oak-fired grouper - fresh, fresh, fresh; a delicious salad; fresh-steamed broccoli; yummy hush-puppies; fresh and delicious rolls with real butter and probably the best creme brulee dessert I've had anywhere. You won't find any restaurant in Panama City with an atmosphere this nice, and I could practically move into the ladies room! LOL Tonight we had a party of 8, and the tab was under $300, with gratuities, including drinks.

Those other folks have no taste...I ate at The Shrimp Boat this weekend and loved it. I had the Scallops and my mother had the grouper panama that was out of this world. Loren (Loren Smith the owner) did an awesome job with this new establishment. Way to go!

We ate at the Shrimp Boat and were VERY disappointed. It was very expensive (up there with Capt. A) and the seafood was borderline spoiled. It had that taste and that bad smell. It was actually ready for the trash and should not have been served. Not a pleasant experience overall. I must tell you to avoid this place!

My Family and I visited this place and let me tell you this place is not child friendly! The worst part was our server she was rude we sat for a while before we were even asked about drinks and after our hour and a half wait when we were told 30 minutes we still gave it a shot! But we obviously should not have done so. The food was cold when it came out the salad was horrible and tasted old and the kids hated thier food and they love to eat seafood well anything for that matter. But honestly the worst part was the manager. I asked to speak with one and my server said well why are you gonna complain about me! then when the manager got there she says excuse me do you have a problem? i respond well yes i hate to complain but our food is cold and we have waited quite some time all ready and she says you didnt have to you could have gone somewhere else we expect classy people here not people looking for something for free! I was absolutely astonished if I wanted something for free i would not have ever went to the most expensive restaurant in town. I couldnt believe the gull of this young lady. Her name was Tabitha and she was a nasty little girl. I say little girl because a lady wouldnt act that way we will never return and never recommend this restaurant to anyone. I would rather go to Captian D's! For a Shrimp Boat that cost MILLIONS the Shrimp is the worst i have ever had and the prices are to hi for the quality to be so low. But I guess when you are more worried about gossiping and coping a feel or two you dont have time to do your job! Right. I think the staff should think about what customers can see and hear. I would think of hiring a whole new staff if I was Loren Smith I bet his father would be ashamed. Lowe Smith was a very wonderful man! My Grandfather knew him personally and my grandfather says Loren is driving his fathers good name in the ground! NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE YOU WILL OVERPAY AND BE VERY DISSATISFIED!

Food is not up to the standard of the old Shrimp boat. Much worse than the other near by Saint Andrews Seafood retaurants and much more expenive. Our group had 5 different dinners only the Grilled Grouper was even average. The rest were bad. We also had to wait an hour--that shouldn't last long.
