I went a couple of weeks ago to pick up a sandwich and witnessed the following: the employee rang up my order on a computer, brought me a pen to sign my charge slip, then took a phone order on another computer. At that point, he had touched two visibly filthy computer keyboards, a phone receiver and a pen (all of which most certainly had been touched by many hands). After he hung up the phone, he went straight to a side counter, pulled a lump of dough from an open box and began to stretch out a pizza crust. No hesitation whatsoever, and no thought, apparently, about stopping in the bathroom that was one foot away and washing his hands. I would not like to be the person who ordered that pizza. We have not been back since.
