The Mamas Southern Fried Chicken was excellent but I have had better seafood at non-seafood restaurants. Except for the chicken, we found the food to be quite bland -- not a drop of seasoning on anything, and this is coming from New Englanders who are accustomed to boring food! The service wasnt much better. We received more attention from other waitstaff than our own server. Based on the overall experience, we wouldnt rush back next time we are in the area
We went here last night for supper and we got a table right away. It was 30 deg. outside though and they left the front door open and seated us by the door which made it quite chilly. Didn't want to waste time moving, we were starving. The shrimp skewers was undercooked; jelly tasting, waiter and management did nothing. The prices were seriously inflated as the frizzled onion appetizer was $8 for a small cone of them. There were 4 of us and we each could have eaten one of those cones. The waiter said he told the manager but once again, nobody visited out table. We didn't want anything but a visit from the manager to help out with the undercooked food would have been nice. The $18 coconut shrimp was tasty but you only got about 6 really small shrimp. Very chinsy and expensive. I can't complain about my ceaser salad; it was good and the grilled chicken on top was good. The amber jack fish with lobster sauce was fair; didn't care for the limp, soggy spinach on it though. All in all, we will never go here again when in town; felt like we were rushed and it was VERY expensive when only 3 of us got a meal and it was $80. My younger son just picked off our plates so we felt this was not an enjoyable experience and really expensive. Spent a ton and left hungry. Don't waste your money!!!!
Completely disappointed. Poor service, iffy food, and down right rude employees. To top it off after many, many mistakes I am automatically charged 18% gratuity. I would not recommend spending your hard earned money on them. Forrest, Bubba and Lieutenant Dan would be pissed.
Just some of the issues...
- 45 minutes to get food
- Ask for condiments and did not get anything from any of the 4 servers who asked what we needed.
- Crab claws were undercooked (runny)
- Rudeness when we finally did receive condiments and some napkins
- Party of 4 charged an automatic 18% gratuity for horrible service
- Etc, etc....
I've gone there twice in the past couple months. The food+drinks are really good. The service is hit+miss. The first time I went, it took a while just for a server to come to the table. After 10 minutes he finally got there+took our drink orders, but it took another 10+minutes just to bring the drinks to the table. I almost got up to go to the bar to order them myself. Apparently, the guy who took our drink order was just helping out, and a waitress came over to take our food order. She was very good+after she got there it was smooth sailing.
The 2nd visit was ok as far as a waiter coming over quickly. Too bad th drinks took 15 minutes to get to us...and it was the manager who brought them over. After that it was ok.
Good food+a good view, but the service could use some improvement. Especially when food+drinks can get to $100(good tip included) for 2 people.
