I'm not a professional food critic however I am a professional eater ! I assure you that I DONT own the place, work there or have any interest aside from giving the honest skinny on my personal experience.
GENERAL: Love this place. I've eaten here with g/f several times, keep going back.
FOOD: All real good. 2 different sausages, one's mild with a bit of a gamey twang (which I like) and one's a hot link. Both have a bunch of shallow cuts along the length making it look kinda like a spring, which is a VERY NICE TOUCH and also lets some of the fat drain out. Brisket and ribs come dry (like they should). Add a piece of chicken for a buck, that's cool. Gotta like rosemary if you get the tri-tip. Mac-n-cheese off the hook. Beans off the hook. Avoid the water biscuit as a side dish. Pretty good peach cobbler (enough for 2), great fried biscuits that come with a vanilla pudding, could have been banana. Fix that darn pop machine guys (2 choices only) ! Bring your own beer.
PRICE: Average but the huge portions are enough to share. I always get the 3 meat plate and split it - AND WE HAVE TAKE-HOME EVERY TIME.
ATMOSPHERE / STAFF: Great location right down on 6th street where all the fun stuff is. About 6 tables inside, and a couple of tables outside (not many places do this) good for people watching. Open and airy with an all glass front. Parking is half the price on the side street instead of on 6th.
