My husband and I were in town for the night this past Saturday. We were looking for a place to eat and was advised to eat at Vinola's. We had a fantastic meal!! Our waitress was very good, she recommended our dishes. My husband had the italian sausage w/pasta meal, and I had the penne pasta, chicken, basil leaves, pine nuts and goat cheese, DELISH!! We we come back, we will be sure to stop in for a meal! I would highly recommend to anyone.
I was excited for the opportunity to have dinner again at Vinola's but was so disappointed this evening! The waiter/server we had looked as though he hadn't showered in weeks. His long dirty hair wasn't pulled back and as he brought my food, I was disgusted! He wore krocs and no socks! The bartender was flirting with a group of men at the bar and then proceeded to take a shot with them. I thought there were laws against that. My salad was 9.95 and was mediocre. Basically it was a plate of greens and very little meat, or toppings. We sat at a small table near the bar. There was a guy fooling with the music during dinner. Songs would start and then be interrupted 1/2 way through. The volume would go from loud to louder and we were leaning over the table to be able to hear one another. I still love the decor but for a casual dinner ... and 50 dollars later a big dissappointment, I won't be back soon.
The bar food is GREAT. The cook is willing to accomadate requests not on the menu. I challenge anybody to finish an order of nachos grande. Unlike other lancaster county restaurants, these really are GRANDE. I tried an order of this at the Loxley restaurant in Centerville, and could not believe how awful it was. Back to Vinolas for me. The pizza rocks too.
This place is a favorite with my family.
We have a big gand and a bunch of kids and honestly, the staff and the owner always goes out of their way to accomodate. Entrance is to the rear and off the street. Nice fireplace upon entrance. Friendly atmosphere. Good food at reasonable prices. Never had to wait for a table, even when busy. This place is quite roomy. Give it a try!
I have to disagree with Linda. Last night was the first time that we were there for dinner and the food was excellent. I had the stuffed tilapia and it was delicious!! Also, the young man that was our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Service was very good. We will most definitely be returning. Very relaxing atmosphere.
