Vinaigrette - Santa Fe
Vinaigrette is a chic and green Santa Fe bistro that raises the salad bar with bold and delicious entree salads. Featuring innovative flavor combinations and the option to add savory protein accompaniments like diver scallops, lemon-herb chicken or grilled hanger steak, these tantalizingly hearty yet healthy creations allow for guiltless and delicious eating at the same time. Much of the restaurant's organic produce is grown on owner Erin Wade's 10-acre Nambe farm, Los Portales, harvested within hours of arriving at Vinaigrette's kitchen. When not grown at the farm, the restaurant strives to source local and organic ingredients. As one local publication put it Eating well never tasted so good.
The food was fine; not fabulous but good. The ambiance inside is lacking simply because it s quite loud. We went with a party of 6 to celebrate a birthday and brought our own cake. Salads for six people, no drinks, was $68. However, they charged us $12 as a plating fee for the cake plates. However, we used our bread plates for the cake so we had to pay $12.00 for absolutely nothing! If the restaurant is that desperate for money, let them earn it by exceptional food and service.
The food and service were high quality. I had the Asian salad with beef and my husband had the vegetable sandwich. For dessert we had apple pie with homemade ice cream. All wonderful! Yes, the prices are a little high, but you pay for creativity and expert preparation. The atmosphere is average and there may be a wait for a table, but it is worth it and we will definitely go again.
