Rooster's Roadhouse, Denton

After reading the reviews I was looking forward to eating at Rooster's. Alas, I was not impressed. We ordered the brisket, bean and cheese queso and thought it was to sweet because of the barbecue sauce in it along with sweet relish. The chips were also too thick, not crispy. I got the brisket plate with fried pickles and my husband got the brisket sandwich. The sandwich was okay, the chips were not good. Not thin enough to be crispy and not thick enough for a french fry, also no taste. The cut brisket seemed to lean and dry. Without sauce it was not good. I also ordered a salad and didn't get it with my meal, when I reminded the waitress it took her 15 minutes to bring it to me. She said I wouldn't be charged for it but we were. We went on a Saturday night and waited 10 minutes before someone came to take our drink order and service after that was really slow. Worst service I have had in a long time. I think if I am back over that way I will just stick with Fuzzy's Tacos. They never disappoint.

I avoided this place for most of the year, because I dont eat meat. I finaly checked out the menu online and found they had one veggie optional , the Seared Veg Po‘Boy. Decided to try it, and I was very pleasantly surprised, I must say it is the best veggie sandwich i have ever had. Pack full of vegetables, it’s a real veggie sandwich unlike most places that offer guacamole in bread.

This has got to be my absolute favorite hamburger joint in all of Denton!! Their cheeseburger is simply divine. Reminds me of the Chicken Oil Co.'s bugers in Bryan, Texas (which most Texas A&M alums should be familiar with). The homemade chips are good, too. Sometimes the daily specials are worth checking out, too. The chicken fried steak is good, the turkey sandwich is nice for a change. The BBQ dishes are good but I've had better. Service is adequate, sometimes a little slow. Sometimes you get free peanuts to snack on while you wait for a meal, other times not--doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Nice rustic atmosphere, the bar area seems to have a decent selection of brews, too. They have a back porch but I've never used it. It can get pretty crowded at lunch, so be prepared. The Texas chilli is pretty tasty, too. But definitely it's the cheeseburger and double cheeseburger that will keep me coming back as long as this place stays open...Kudos!

I just went to Rooster's for the first time Friday. We got our food to-go because it was close to closing time. I really enjoyed the brisket queso and the sandwich I got (it wasn't called a Philly Cheese steak, but that's basically what it was). Certainly not a place to go when looking for something healthy. The food was reasonably priced ($7-$10 or so for a sandwich & chips). The back patio is probably really nice when the weather is good, but other than that, there is no much seating. It is nice to have something else in that area of town.

This place is really busy and a little hard to enjoy your meal with all the activity. The staff was pleasant and food was ok - but, not real relaxing.

Horrible service. Our server charged us the wrong amount on our credit card, and had to run it again to void the transaction. He then voided the incorrect transaction, overcharching us almost $15, and apparently pocketed that amount. The voided transaction then took 3 days to clear, causing negative charges on my bank account. PLEASE HIRE INTELLIGENT SERVERS!!! Food was good, but not good enough to return and deal with that.

WOW! I knew these guys were opening a place, and I knew it would be good... But WOW! I can't believe how good it actually is. I would go there everyday if I lived closer. I think every meal is under $10 and worth more than that. Last time I got the "Big A** Grilled Cheese Double Burger", a double cheese burger with grilled cheese (on texas toast) as the buns! Talk about calorie overload, and EXCELLENT!!! Best tasting hamburger patties I think I have ever had. Two thumbs way up!

Mary and Rachel and Johnny are fantastic fun. The food is good and Mary is the best bartender. Finally a place with a bar, good people, good food, and great fun without the smoky environment. Plan to go back a lot!

the red neck sushi is really good. Nothing like real sushi at all. No fish, just BBQ. It is really delicious

Love this place! Best prices in town for awesome bar-b-q. Went there Saturday night, and going back Wednesday night to eat some good bar-b-q.
