Ok I have had BBQ in TX, KCK and In numerous other places who claim to have the best BBQ. I have been in Chester's numerous times with friends who have come to visit me. The sampler platter is usually what we get and we share so that we can get a small taste of everything. The food is to die for, the ambiance is relaxed and the staff are the friendliest people in New England. What more do you want. Prices are reasonable for what you get which is a mound of food. You walk in the door and by the time you get to the counter you are a slobbery mess :) Can I get a job? lol

I admit, I was skeptical about any "Yankee" barbecue joint, but boy was I wrong! The food here is spectacular, just like back home in GA! I was really impressed with the staff too, so friendly and efficient. We will be back!

All of the food that we have tried at Chester's has been excellent. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it has lots of cozy booths, cute decor, and friendly staff. The Carolina pulled pork is my favorite, and is true to its origin. All of the side dishes are also delicious (potato salad, beans and rice, mac and cheese, cole slaw, etc). The cornbread is warm and thick, yum! The first time we visited, Chester (the owner) greeted us and told us the story of his own personal BBQ journey. Overall, an excellent place for great food! (They do take-out, too!)

My experience with this joint has always been a running joke with my partner. When I first stepped in the overwhelming smokey smell was unfortunately just too much for my extremely queasy stomach, so we exited in hopes to find me something a little more bland (much to my partner's dismay). The owner came out just steps behind us to ask where we were going! He really thought the world of his BBQ and sold it very well to us. He told us he had spent 20-something years in Kansas doing this before traveling up north. We promised a return once my stomach could handle something beyond bland. Keeping to our word, we visited a few days later. The smell was beginning to turn my stomach (I'm sensitive to heavy smokey odors apparently), but I went ahead with the Turkey Leg and a side of sweet potatoes. We sat in a cozy booth, and when my partner's order was called he gave an excited 'woo!' and ran up to get the food for both of us. Here it was...BBQ, and I was uncertain. Let me put it this way- I came in not very hungry and thinking I was going to pick at everything and have leftovers to graze on throughout the following day and I left that place with -nothing-. I ate the entire leg and all of the wonderful, delicious sweet potato that little container could handle. Even the corn bread (which is thick like cake!) was absolutely to die for. I have not tried anything else on the menu (yet) but I do plan on returning in the future! I hope this review helps gain a little confidence in people because I'd like to see more people enjoy the great food!

The Ribs are fantastic ! so is the Carolina pulled pork ! and Russels really needs to take down that sign ya'll have all seen it , they might have had the best ribs decades ago when they were the only ribs around , but lets face it they have been passed by and run over by the Micheal Jordan of Ribs , Chester's plain and simple has the best Ribs today and yes Russels he'll still have the best Ribs tomorrow too !

Not bad BBQ. It is hard to fine good BBQ in the North but this place isn't that bad. Ribs are good, Pulled pork needs a little work but is still not bad. Not that bad for the North.
