Designed like the great old beach hang outs that once populated the Gulf Coast, Margaritaville Panama City, is located in Pier Park, the only entertainment and shopping complex on the beach. With upper and lower decks overlooking the Gulf it's the perfect blend of ocean breezes, great food, generous drinks and Beach Party Music. The island-inspired menu offers something for everyone with classic American and Gulf Coast favorites. After dinner, the restaurant transitions into a swinging late night scene with dancing and live music.
This place used to be a nice clean restaurant with good atmosphere but has lately become so bad that even locals stay away. I m an old Parrothead going back to the beginnings of Margaritaville Key West and I have visited all but a couple of the Margaritaville Cafes through out the Caribbean and as far away as Honolulu. This being the closest Cafe to us we like to drop in every so often and grab a bite and have a cool one. But, I have to agree whole heartedly with those who say the service has gotten really bad. Most of the employees seem like they would rather be anywhere but working. This really has put a damper on the whole island atmosphere. The quality of the menu has suffered as well. Please, clean the place up a bit and give us back a Margaritaville we d love to visit, say, like my favorite one located at Universal Orlando!
We stopped by early and had no wait. As a local, we always see a crowd here and a long wait. Go early if you go. The food is fresh but EVERYTHING on the menu is OVER PRICED. The service is very attentive. Nothing on the menu we ordered was any reason to go back for. This place is right on Front Beach Road in Pier Park across from the Gulf. A definite tourist trap!
We had a wonderful Father's Day dinner at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville! Just over 30 minute wait, but definitely worth it!!! best margaritas on the beach, cheeseburger was definitely paradise! Our service was fantastic...ask for Ryan...the kids loved him!
I was actually surprised. I expected an overpriced tourist crap trap. Sure there is a premium on the name and I expected that to show up in the bill, but I was impressed overall. The two meals we had were above average. The scenery inside exceeded my expectations. We ate at an odd time of day and got right in. If I had to wait an hour for a table (prime dinner time during busy season), I probably wouldn't have liked it as much. Will try again.
They had some problems with the power system while we were there. All the power in the dinning area went out. This caused delays in getting food orders put into the computer and getting drinks brought out. They eventually got it figured out and got our orders going. The food was good but slightly overpriced and the service could have been better even with the electrical problems. The waitress seemed to quit checking on us after the food arrived. Still, a place that has a very unique atmosphere based on Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville song.
