I pass through Cashiers twice a week and always stop at Tommy's Coffee Shop for a caffeine boost and a freshly baked treat or two. The aromas are wonderful, thanks to their freshly baked cinnamon rolls, muffins, and scones. Try the raspberry white chocolate scone, and grab some homemade cookies to go!
The coffees are fairtrade and roasted weekly, which I really appreciate. The espresso is always very fresh, with a dark, bold flavor. The staff does not skimp on shots for the lattes, using three generous shots in their large size cup. The caramel and chocolate sauces for the flavored coffees are made in-house. Tommy's has the best hot chocolate -- their ganache chocolate sauce is very deep and rich.
For the tea lovers there is a great selection of organic black, green and herbal Yogi teas along with chai.
I usually make time to stop and sit a while, taking advantage of their free wifi from the very comfy leather chairs and plentiful tables. Tommy's has wonderful natural light due to all the windows, also great for people watching. There is a really colorful selection of primitive folk art on the walls. The Tommy's staff is so friendly and warm, I always feel welcome.
