Open Range Steak House reopened in 2012 under new ownership and management. Food is excellent, and while it is a bit expensive, the portions are huge. Most dinners can be ordered 1/2 size, thus reducing cost. It s still more than most folks can eat.
We at there for the first time on Saturday (6/20/09) at 5:30 pm. At this time we were told that they did not have unsweetened iced tea or soup. Later we over heard someone in the back tell the waitresses that they could not take any more orders for beef because they were out. Beef? isn't this a steak house? Isn't town and country just 5 minutes down the road?
Then while waiting on on our food, we saw a cockroach running across the table as the waitress was standing there. She put her arm/hand back to slap it but my wife got it with her napkin. Then I was asked when given my baked potato, if I wanted butter and sour cream, even after I had said I wanted my potato loaded. Then when the waitress came by the next time she asked me again if I wanted butter and sour cream. The service was poor all through the meal. When the waitress decided it was time for us to pay she didn't give us the check she said to come up to the register....I paid more than $20 for a steak, this isn't a diner!!!
