Coming out of Myrtle Beach airport on a Sunday, I came upon a somewhat decrepit looking little shopping center. All of the businesses appeared to be closed, save one...LA POBLANITA. There were many cars in the parking lot and I knew I had found a local GEM. I wandered in at lunch, hungry from a day of flying. There was a woman at the grill pressing HOMEMADE tortillas. The scents and smells coming off of the grill were enticing. I ordered a chicken enchilada with verde and sat at the bar because all of the tables were taken. My enchilada was ART on a PLATE in every sense of the word, totally delicious, beautifully presented, albiet spicy! Everything appears to be made from scratch and is as fresh as can be. I haven't been this excited about a restaurant in a long time. There is no ambiance, the restaurant is hot, and the decor is sparse but appears to be clean, you need to be patient and let the tortilla maker keep up with the orders but the result it well worth the wait! I drove 40 minutes out of my way to go back a second time and bring the bounty of my wonderful find to family members. I almost didn't want to review this for fear that there will be lines out the door the next time I return. I travel to Mexico often and this is the real deal! If you are someone who appreciates the art of good food, La Poblanita is not to be missed!
