I'm also not the first to write reviews, but after eating here, I dusted off the laze.
During our vacation in LA, we happened to accidentally end up at this wonderful place. Authentic is the word. Owner's wife cooked a meal that was mind-blowing. Healthy, nutritious and delicious. Like it so much that we made it a rule to eat there every day of our remaining time in there. Kathleen's depiction of the place is accurate. But I would have to disagree with her on the Aloo Paratha - it was outstanding, actually. We also thoroughly enjoyed Sabudana Khichdi, Chapati/bhaji, to name a few.
Here's something else:
Normally Indian folks dont engage in conversation at restaurants - they come do their thing and leave ... I am no exception. But strangely at this place, the atmosphere was quite different. Everybody was interested in sharing their admiration of the food, and swore to come back for more. It brought me many memories of Mumbai. Great food does great things, I guess!!
Most Indian restaurants seem like a rip-off in comparison. Dont miss this marvel !
