I absolutely love Basics. Its food is unique and their dinner specials are delicious. I thoroughly enjoy their lunch menu with the homemade pimento cheese sandwich with tomato soup. My Saturday routine is breakfast with their sweet potato pancakes. I hope it continues as one of Decatur s best!
Whoa, This place was not a place I wanted to spend my hard earned money at! Ordered a steak salad, the steak was of the worst cut, pieces of fat and cartilage hard and unchewable, it was basically a slap in the face. I dont understand how a human being could put that meat on a plate and think someone would eat it. What a jerk. The wife said the macaroni and cheese was ok. The service was substandard, very sub, like no service was more than they give you here. The server was more interested in reading his book than working. He must be the owner. We will definately, most definately, never step foot into this place again. I feel ripped off.
I eat there everyday for a week then they started getting slack. They put 3 little pieces of steak on my steak salad for $10.00 thats ridculaous. Terrible portions and old ideas for food, if it is Southern than don't make it exotic southern. Not very many items to choose from, and bad service.
