Just had dinner Friday Feb 13th. The Valentine special was Never offered to us even though online it clearly stated that the Valentine's Day special was available Fri night and Sat We had to ask for it???? The waitor was very accomodating And ran it by the Chef who apparently agreeed that they would provide the Valentine's Day special. The outcome was great the meals were amazing!!The service was excellent!!! Four course meal each course served gradually so that you could appreciate every morsel. Portions looked small but definitely were not Very rich and filling. We were even able to bring our pup a special treat which he agreed was scrumptious. We even got to take home a complimentary box of chocolate's each!!! Thank You for making Valentine's Day Special!!!!
I went to this restaurant with family for dinner. The atmosphere, decor and service were excellent. The food was average. Both my wife and I thought our dishes were too salty. I had the risotto and she the ravioli. On top of the unimpressive food, it is quite expensive. However, will likely give the place one more try.
I m almost embarrassed to write this review as we ve been living in the area for 10 years and complaining about our inability to find a fine Italian restaurant, yet it had been in our backyard. We tried it last night to celebrate my wife s birthday and were pleasantly shocked at how good it was. I agree with Susan S. that Metro Bis and and the Mill at 2T are its comparitors in the area and Papacelle holds its own with both of them on overall quality and service and it immediately jumped to the top of our list for fine Italian.
Appetizers were very good, the Neopolitan meat ball was as good a meatball as I ve ever tasted. Light and fluffy and you can taste the each of the meats from which it was blended. The baby spinach salad with bacon shitake mushrooms gorganzola and truffle essence and the arugala, goat cheese apple salad with honey pumpkin dressing had us raving about them. I can t recall the last time we d been out and excited about the salads.
The pastas, all homemade were fantastic. The tomato sauce on my daughter s ravioli still had the lingering body of the tomatoes from which they were made. My wife s squid ink spaghetti with lobster and walnuts was as good as she s had in a decade. My duck two ways was sublime and I almost had to fight to keep my family from eating it, although not due to their unhappiness with their own main courses.
We had a reasonably priced very good Montepulciano wine and the Flourless Nutella cake it worth a return visit alone.
Our waiter Adrian was perfect. Attentive but not intrusive We never had to fill a glass. It s not cheap, but Italian does not get any better.
