Rarely do I write a review but I can't stop thinking about the lobster bisque at Jeremy's on the hill. And that was just the start of it. The duck pot stickers, the crab cakes, the blue cheese bib salad, the seared scallops, the desserts were the best. I can't wait to visit again. Wished it was closer to Yuma. Labor Day weekend here I come.
Our tradition of visiting Julian once a year has turned into going to Jeremy's on the Hill too. Once again we were very grateful for the amazing food. (We even took pictures of it with our cell phone.) We can't wait to visit Jeremy's again...hopefully sooner than later.
Great food and great service. I started with lobster bisque, which was excellent. Then came the rack of lamb, and it was excellent too.
Jeremy's has a nice selection of local wines, a nice selection of local beers, and even offers locally-made hard cider. I had apple wine, and it also was excellent.
I heartily recommend Jeremy's on the Hill. It will be our restaurant of choice on future Juilian trips.
We ate here when they first opened, and honestly, they were a little shaky. We decided to try it again because we absolutely love the warm/ family/ friendly/ country feel that Jeremy's has to offer (that and it's a bit further from all the tourists).
I am *so* glad that we came back! The changes that this kid (and I do mean kid-- he's only 22 years old!) has made are amazing! The atmosphere is so much more refined, the prices are still super low, and the food was even better than we remembered. We came on a Tuesday (mostly to avoid the crowds) and were well rewarded with the intimacy that dining here during the week afforded us.
I had the decadent Lobster Bisque with a perfectly prepared Rib-eye steak, and my fiance had the Julian Apple Salad with his Devilish Cornish Game Hen--- all of it was amazing!
Thanks Jeremy! We'll keep coming back!
I wish I would have read these reviews before my wife and I jumped on our motorcycle for a 200 mile round trip drive for the poorest meal we’ve had in years. I hate McDonalds, but we should have eaten there instead. I found Jeremy's on the Hill on the internet. After I read his entire web site and called to reconfirm hours, I thought it would be a good place to eat… was I wrong!!!
They write “Our Chef is dedicated to only using the finest and freshest ingredients available.” This is far from the truth, our fries were cold and from frozen. They tried to hide that fact by sprinkling some spices on it. My wife’s vegi sandwich was soggy and tasteless. When we said something, we were told that normally they are good. Ok, this was not! And nothing was offered to make a mends.
If this is what Cordon Blue produces, I will run the other way…
Heather W. said “Unfortunately, there were several gnats flying around, one of which ended up in one of our glasses. That was a bit annoying.” We had the same issue...
What a shame this visit turned out to be. Eater, beware!
Wonderful!! By far the best restaurant anywhere in the Julian area, with quite the most remarkable genuine Julian Apple pie you will ever taste! Don't miss it as you approach the town, a couple of miles out.
Went to Santa Ysabel Resort on 79 to get lunch but couldn't deal with the cigarette smoke so we thought we'd go get pizza in Wynola. Then we spotted Jeremy's and decided to try it. What a treat! You have to try the lobster bisque. The best I've ever had. Wonderful food, atmosphere and service.
