This place is good, so I don t get the bad reviews. They have very good omelettes, and I ve had a few other things that were excellent. Their pecan pies are so good, but seasonal. The best that I ve had for pecan pie. Their bear claws are also delicious, so if you haven t tried one yet, get one. You won t regret it.
We have been to other Black Bear Diners that were very good. We were very disappointed in the one in Paradise. The food tasted good but was barely warm. The fresh squeezed orange juice tasted like a watered down punch. We could have handled all this but the waitress was very rude and impatient. We think her name was Tammy.
The food is usually good with mountainous servings, however that depends on who is cooking that night. The same could be said for the quality of service, hit or miss, depending on who is serving you. The prices seem reasonable especially considering the big portions you get. However it is rare to get a waitress who is nice and goes out of her way to make your evening pleasant. Consistency is not their fortee'.
