Wonderful dining experience. Our food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The waitress was attentive and gracious. Lovely decor. Couldn't ask for a nicer evening. Have already recomended this restaurant to co-workers.
This was AMAZING Thai food and our experience could not have been better. I had the Red Curry. It was divine and THE best curry I've ever tasted. My boyfriend ordered Pad Thai. We were shocked at how much food we got with our order and the presentation was superb. In fact, the Pad Thai was more than just the usual pile of noodles. It was just beautiful to look at and the flavors were out of this world!
Great customer service! Sam was so nice and wanted to make sure we knew in advance if something was extra spicy or not. Also, when you go, make sure and try the Spring Rolls. Thai Orchid has a type I've never had anywhere else and it has avocados. Delish!
We found this place during a weekend visit to Asheville. When we go back, we will definitely be visiting Thai Orchid. In the meantime, I'll be craving it and wishing we had a Thai place as tasty as this one.
The place needs a good cleaning that's for sure...my husband smelled a strange smell when we walked in and he thought it was urine. I was a little nervous eating there after he mentioned that. I had the Chicken satay and the chicken itself was good, but the peanut sauce was very bland. The cucumbers seemed to be immersed in some kind of duck sauce which was not typical for Thai. I usually have had them in a sugar water which is much better in my opinion. The Pad Thai was very good except for the canned shrimp that was added into the dish. Not good at all ... They did put 2 or 3 large shrimp in and they were very good. I just don't understand why they would ruin the dish by adding nasty small dirty shrimp instead of all larger shrimp. The smaller shrimp weren't even cleaned.
All in all I would go back, but I wouldn't order shrimp again.
This is one of the best Thai Restaurants I've eaten at in years. They have great thai food and the staff are wonderful. The restaurant is a landmark in itself be it was once known as the Mountainer Inn Steakhouse years ago.I will definately recomend this restaurant to all my friends.
