Soma Grill, Matthews

My family went to dinner yesterday for my b-day at Soma Grill Indian Bistro in Matthews NC...I am not a big fan of Indian Food but this place has changed me. The food was out of this world and the service was 5 star. Ms. Tulsi the owner and cook makes everything from scratch and can make it to your liking. My daughter is vegetarian and very picky but this is the 1st place we have gone to that has something to satisfy her as well. They even have ice cream that is made right there. All of the meats they serve are halal so you don't have to worry about the treatment of the animals which is good to know. Everyone should go to this restaurant at least twice in your life. There is no chain restaurant I can think of that tops this place in quality, service and taste and I am saying this after being a fan of Morton's in downtown Charlotte. So if you get a chance take someone there to impress them and have one awesome meal.

Fantastic! Really flavorful dishes. Love lentil soup. Not a big fan of thin Rasam soup. I prefer homemade ginger dressing on house salad. Ask for the HOT house secret roasted red chili and garlic chutney to spice things up. Great service. Go with a good attitude and healthy appetite and you will be more than pleased (manager does not put up with abuse of wait staff). Wait is worth it.

Food and service are absolutely RUBBISH . I can not say more about waiter's attitude.No wonder the place is always empty.

Absolutely fantastic welcome and food....... We second all the fantastic review we have found on the internet for this unassuming, but oh so wonderful Indian restaurant in Matthews, North Carolina. The welcome is so warm, the owner so hospitable and the food so fresh. You could not ask for anything more. It makes such a nice change to be treated so well. Please, please, please..... try out Soma Grill for yourselves. You won't be disappointed!

I went for lunch and had a Gyro. Excellent! I will definitely be back. I would highly recommend this place.

Homestyle healthy authentic Indian cuisine! Simple and creative menu. Very clean and casual place with friendly service. Price and quantity quite reasonable. Tried many times and love the wraps/sandiches and salads for lunch, and classic vegetarian and chicken and lamb dishes dinner. Everything has great flavors and tastes fresh.
