As soon as Lucille was tall enough to clear tables, Granny put her to work during summers and on weekends. She shared her secrets with Lucille on how to make the best Bar-B-Queac|special spice rubs and savory wet ac~mopsac2 and sauces Lucille had to swear sheac2d never share with a soul. Most of all, she showed Lucille how to cook Bar-B-Que nice and slow, for hours on end in the gentle smoke of hickory wood, until the meat became sweet and succulent and so tender it would fall off the bone if you so much as looked at it.
I went to Lucille's with some friends a week ago and was pretty impressed with the place. The food is really good and the service was outstanding. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant as well. Lucille's is kind of an odd place as they don't just have one style of BBQ, they have recipes from around the country. You can get St Louis style ribs and Texas style brisket. They have Georgia style BBQ as well. My only wish was for some KC style BBQ but was out of luck on that.
This place is a lot of fun. The people are dressed up like cow people and the drinks come in jars. The food is excellent and the service is great. I would suggest you share with someone cause the portions are kinda big.
Stopped by on a Saturday night and had some really good BBQ . The food is excellent, the drinks are liberal and the entertainment is HOT . Caught Mike Eldred cooking on his electric guitar while serving up some groovy Blues . Be sure to catch his rendition of Mystery Train .Later.............
I would recommend Lucille's to everyone. It is a menu I have not ever seen anywhere, it takes you out of the southwest and into another place. Even the watermelon was good in December
By all means a place to eat fantastic ribs
Lucille's has absolutely the best BBQ that I have had since I moved to AZ over a year ago. The restaurant has a great country BBQ feel, and the service is great. Levon, the bartender will give you history on the restaurant, and recommendations on the many great menu selections. He also serves great drinks!! The food portions are generous and plentiful, the sauce is sweet and not to smoky. The BBQ is tender, and not alot of fat, or swimming in sauce. the appetizers are also very tasty, especially the ribs tips and the fried green tomatoes. The atmosphere is friendly and even accomodates eating outside with classic picnic tablecloths. It is great for a place to watch the latest spoting game, bring your kids for good family dining, or even grab desert after a nice dinner for two. Appetizers, Drinks, Entrees, and desserts normally around 25-30 per person. Bring your appetite and head for Lucille's, you will certainly enjoy the food, and the atmosphere!!
