This Indian food is very good! The present owners are very friendly, I think the Naan bread is very good as they bake to order and hot when it arrives. The Chicken Korma is also very good. The Tandoori barbecued mixed grill or chicken is also recommended! I have been to many other Indian restaurants in the state and I consider it one of the better ones. The Samraat also has a vegetarian dishes, saag paneer, mushroom matter, among others. The prices may seem high at first glance, until you realize the actual cost of ingredients they use are not cheap either. Expect to see a simple decor, since this building use to be a Round Table Pizza. For atmosphere they will most likely be playing some great catchy Punjabi Bhangra music.
I usually need to go to the Indian Cuisine at least several times a month to get my Indian food fix. Dinner prices are high--shoot for the lunch menu which is sufficient & priced reasonably. My usual meal goes something like this: free cup of hot milk tea, lamb curry with channa masala (chick peas--wow!), rice and naan. About $8. But I have to have a side of saag paneer (creamed spinach & Indian curd cheese--my favorite hands down) which runs another $7. The naan is nothing to brag about. Need it cheap? Order the lunch to go.
