Total rip-off. Had a bad DC Jack. Needed to know if it could be repaired or was the MotherBoard shot? Originally they charged me a diagnostic fee, without even looking at laptop. After paying a huge fee for DC Jack and repair; they broke a couple items during the repair and refused to fix it. They tried blaming the broken hardware on viruses, i.e. not their fault. Then once I insisted they look to see if it was actually broken during the repair; it came back as just normal broken equipment that breaks all the time on these laptops and it just happened to break while they were repairing it, but it wasn’t their fault. Then the owner graciously agreed to order a part if I d pay for it (oh, but he d install it for me). They broke it, I have to pay for it. Then the tech found a part in the shop off a broken laptop that fit and so he installed it. Great, except they still charged me for it! Their reason: if they had ordered the part, they would have ordered a used part anyway. So the used part in the shop is the same thing. What?! Called the owner numerous times to try and clear it up, but he won t return my calls. Shady! Dishonest! Disingenuous! Crooked business! They’ve had my laptop for nearly a month! Can’t sue, that would cost me even more and I m already out more money than the laptop’s worth! Thanks Lowtree for ripping off honest hard working people!
I havent used them for a long time now. But recently the work has gone down hill. I brought my laptop because my screen kept going white. They said i had a few viruses. They fixed the problem for me. After i had it, it was working slow. Then the day after it crashes. And then they say i need a new hard drive. Which will be another $130. And they wouldnt refund the money from the so-called fixing earlier. I will never used his place again, and i will encourage everyone I know to never go there. Take your computer to bestbuy were they care about there customers!
We would like To give a special thanks to Lowell and his employees, Being a business owner its very hard to do work without a computer, We had some problems with our office computers and Lowell took me right in and took good care of us they even worked late in the evening and all day Saturday to get me up and running before Monday. Also being a business owner it seems like the customers that are completely happy don't make a point to go on the computer and write a review but boy if theres one that not happy they go all over the computer. So its really hard to go by reviews because some just go online to vent instead of calling the owner if they have a problem.But I'm 100% happy and I will always let Lowetree take care of our computer needs. Great service at Lowetree Computers. I took my laptop in on Thursday to get my screen replaced. The screen had to be ordered which could take approx 3-5 business days. To my luck it was there in 3 days. My laptop was repaired the same day the screen came in and was ready for pick up by 1pm. I am extremely pleased with the level of service that was provided and not to mention; Lowetree Computers was the most inexpensive in Charleston .
Talk about a business with great customer service. At Lowetree Computers not only were the technicians knowledgeable and helpful but they were extremley friendly and polite as well. The prices were much better than any of the other local computer repair shops. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be a Lowetree Computer customer for many years to come!!!
I am very very pleased with the service at Lowetree Computers. I went there today because my laptop wouldn't charge. I had previously went to BBS Computers over by Best Buy on Rivers Ave. and they told me that there was $35 testing fee to see what was wrong with my computer and that they would send it somewhere for 3 business days for testing, after those days were up they would call me and give me a price. The gentleman there told me that he thought the problem had to do with the computer itself but that he wouldnt be able to give me any type of pricing because they wouldnt know until it was tested. When I went to Lowetree Computers they tested my laptop right there in front of me(and didnt charge me for it) and come to find out the problem wasnt the laptop at all... my adapter just went bad. The gentleman there was very kind and found an adapter that worked for my computer I only payed $50 for it. If I wouldnt have went Lowetree Computers I would have paid an extra $35 for testing and I would have had to wait 3 days to get my computer back. I am so Happy that I didnt : )
I am sorry to say I am not happy AT ALL with lowe tree I took my laptop in with nothing wrong with I used it every day for my school work and personal my only problem with it is i was stuck to a wall due to the fact my screen was busted.i ordered a sreen from hp and a simple 2 hour install as they told me turned into an almost 3 week nightmare.....i was charged for over night shipping for it to go to california to have something replaced,,,,k fine O WELL DANG THEN IT NEEDS AN ENTIRE MOTHER BOARD. Then its over nighted back in ONLY 3 DAYS and imagine this I get my computer home to go back to using it with my desktop monitor.NOT HAPPENING wont turn on i cant even open my disc player SO YEA.....IF YOU DONT HAVE MUCH WRONG IM sorry but i would not recomend them......And who dont stand behind there work ESPECIALLLY when they are charging
