We recently went to the Thai Grill for the first time, and it was AMAZING. The service was great, the wine was great, and the special of the evening was wahoo with a cream crab sauce. I tell everyone I know about it. It is definately a change from the ordinary, and I can't wait to go again!
Ive been going to this restaurant for three years now and they've never had a bad meal HOWEVER their side dishes are awful. The vegetable fried rice had huge pieces of tomato and little else, the spring rolls are crunchy outside but have some kind of gooey filling in them. Vegetable spring rolls were better but still bad, NOW on the positive side, jumbo chili grilled shrimp were STILL FABULOUS, the satays are great, the thai salad with the peanut dressing was good , the bacon wrapped scallops SIX HUGE SCALLOPS wrapped in THICK crispy bacon for EIGHT BUCKS. DONT MISS THEM and the chicken drunken spicy noodles. You really have to make the right selections in this place BUT if you DO, youll be raving. IF you want it SPICY, make SURE your server knows what your idea of spicy IS. If you ask for it as spicy as they can make it, order drinks first hahhahahha. It's an outstanding restaurant IF you order the right things .
8/18/2009 This was our first time at Thai Grille and almost everything we ordered was very good. The wings, jumbo shrimp & beef over jasmine rice was excellent. The grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, and french fries were very good. The calamari, mahi bites, and shrimp tempura were excellent. The house salad, thai fried rice, and spring rolls were just okay. The waitress was efficient and friendly. There could be better lighting and we would love to see the sanitation grade go up to a 99. We would definitely be patrons again and recommend the grille to others.
Definitely get the pad thai noodles if you have a strong allergy to taste. You'll be pretty safe since it's extremely bland. The menu is not authentic. If you've never had Thai food, I'd recommend driving into Wilmington or Jacksonville to try some. If you must try it here, don't order the shrimp tempura, teriyaki chicken, or sesame seared ahi and think you're eating Thai food because these are blatant Japanese dishes. I'm sure nobody is dumb enough to look at the desserts and think any of them are thai desserts. I gave it 2 stars because it's way better than the seahorse cafe and there's not much else to choose from in the area.
Great non-smoking restaurant. Grilled shrimp skewers are wonderful. There was a live guitarist one Friday evening we were there. Nice, yet casual interior. Great for families and couples. Have always had great service. Highly recommend.
