Asheville Brewing Company
The evening was cool and inviting so we decided to set out front on the patio. We waited for around fifteen minutes before I ventured inside the establishment in search of assistance. I was directed to the bar where I waited again for service. After several minutes I received menus and was informed that I would have to return to the bar to place my order. We decided on an order of cheese sticks and Greek salad for an appetizer. For the main course we ordered a cheese pizza.
I had to return to the bar and wait to place my order and pay. Oh how wonderful the opportunity to tip before I would be served. Plus they were kind enough to give me my four drinks to carry out on my own. Can I have my check back and adjust my tip. AGGHHH! I was appreciative of the waitress who held the door for me as I exited with the drinks and even more surprised/irritated as she walked over to my table carrying our salads.
Sitting back down with my party I tried to relax and enjoy our appetizers and drinks. Then I realized that I had to make another trip inside for silverware and napkins. Upon my return we were finally able to take a taste of our purchase.
I have to say that the Zorba the Greek Salad was over run with red peppers, but that was easy to remedy by remove the excess. Less the peppers the salad was weak with ingredients, however, the Balsamic Vinaigrette salad dressing that they prepare there is out of the F**** world. It must have had a dash of liquid cocaine in it because after one taste I was hooked and as I write this now I am craving more of it.
Our cheese bread (Napoleon Dynamite Sticks) arrived with a side of their marinara sauce. The cheese sticks were bland and the marinara sauce was obviously from a can and tasted of it. Luckily I had some of their magic Balsamic dressing left which made all the yuckies or blandness of the cheese stick go away.
The cheese pizza which was the same crust and cheese only with the marinara sauce applied in between was heavily seasoned which left a spiced after taste in your mouth long after the meal was over. I would have to rate their pizza just above Pappa Johns. Which I would have to give props to Pappa cause at least he would deliver.
I would also have to give a thumbs down for the patio service. It also irked me that while we were on the patio a server did come out and take the order of group of people at a table next to us. As for payment I do not know if they paid at the table or one of them walked inside. All in all we were not impressed, but we will make a return trip for salad and that Balsamic Vinaigrette.
