Chinnar Indian Cuisine is the best Indian cuisine in Berwyn, PA and was started in 2007, when Anil Sabharwal saw a need for authentic Indian food in the town. You will leave Chinnar feeling that you have just experienced a little taste of India right in the heart of Berwyn. During lunch, Chinnar provides an economic, but filling buffet full of a variety of items. Their dinner is much different however, with a relaxing atmosphere, and excellent service it is a great place to go after a hard days work, or a romantic evening for two. Traditional Indian art and music also adds to the ambience. Welcome to the Great Asian Country India.
We had a baby shower with many kids under 3. The owner billed for five kids under 3 even though he'd said over the phone that the kids eat free for lunch buffets. On top of this, he added a 18% gratuity for the buffet. None of this would have bothered us if he'd clearly stated this. Everyone thought the food was stale and especially the rice item had gone bad. We were over 10 families and none of us returning to this place. A year ago, it used to be crowded. With the bad press, no wonder you'll find it empty these days.
I would give the food 5 stars, and will consider Chinnar for takeout. It was very good. However, the smell of incense was over powering. I could barely breathe. Ended up packing the food up and leaving half way through because I couldn't stand it any more.
