Summer is great because my friends and I get to hit our local hot spot for lobster rolls! We go 1-2x s/wk and love the casual vibe and byob!!! I love the Cajun Shrimp, crab cakes and lobster bisque, but honestly it is all good. Nothing is better than taking your food to the beach and relaxing with friends.
WOW!!! Just had the Lazy Lobster Cater our wedding 250 people. Nothing better than a piece of summer in the middle of winter. The food was fantastic. Everything tasted fresh from the sea. We added on the raw bar and requested the unlimited option so our guests could eat as much as they want and it was a little extra for this option but it was well worth it (I have been to weddings where the host did not make this choice and the guests devoured the raw bar in 15 minutes). The Lobster were sweet and cooked to perfection and i have never had a better steak. The staff was helpful and professional. We have booked another bake at the send of September..
Went to go the Lazy Lobster at 5:30 PM on a Saturday night and their hours are till 9:00 PM. I was told that they were closing because they ran out of lobster! This is a lobster restaurant! Who the hell runs out of lobster at a lobster restaurant let alone on a Saturday night! My father owned a restaurant and his motto was if you run out of something you go to the store and buy more. How poorly managed is this place!!!! I am not sure I will try to go there again. It really left a bad taste in my mouth and I did not have a bite to eat!
This place really rocks - it was the best lobster roll and ribs I have ever had (and I have been to many a place - nothing came close). The lobster was freshly cooked and piled on a baguette rather than the usual hot dog roll and the ribs fell off the bone and melted in my mouth....The place is ultra casual and you can eat right on the beach if you want (I stayed on the patio so I could watch the locals and listen to surfin' tunes). It's BYOB and no corking fees. Highly recommended for anyone looking for some great food in a casual atmoshere.
I made the mistake of having them cater my wedding. The food that they did provide was good but they ran out of everything. The raw bar was empty after only 45 minutes. The owner is not one for planning in advance and gets annoyed when you want to finalize details. Of all the vendors involved in my wedding this caterer was my biggest headache. I was so disappointed because I had such high hopes in the beginning but as the wedding day drew near it became more eveident I had made a mistake. I would not reccomend them for a party let alone a wedding reception for 120. The staff was good and the bar tender was great.
Unless you want your event to be a headache, I would stay away. be an informed consumer and research who you do business with and give your money too. Research Better Business Bureau / Connecticut Small Claims Joanne Watkins / Scott Wiseman. Don't find out the hard way. Be aware of people like this that sell their integrity down the drain for a few of your dollars. Dont find out the hard way
My absolute favorite seafood joint has changed since I found the Lazy Lobster. Difficult parking but the rest is easy. I recommend eating at one of the outdoor tables, watch the locals and tourists walk by and take a stroll on the beach after dinner.
Wow!!! Lazy Lobster is open..I have waited since August..last summer to go there again. We ate on the beach..they gave us chairs and a table and ran the food out to us. Ribs were feeeenominal... The fresh Lobster was the best I have had even in Maine..Don't know why..You would think lobster is lobster..but this one was truly great...
