We met friends at the Brick House for their Sunday brunch. It was a wonderful meal and a wonderful experience. I will never be able to enjoy eggs benedicts anywhere else again. The portions were most generous, the quality superb and the staff friendly and efficient. Although we live in Fair Oaks, you can be sure we will go there again. Also, we are recommending the Brickhouse to all of our friends. Thanks for making this a fun and enjoyable brunch. Marge & Bill Ward
OMG. I had the best meal at The Brick House last night.
We went there to celebrate a birthday and found that we were not the only large party that had that idea. Even so, the meal went smoothly.
We arrived early for our reservations and were at our table with bread (love their garlic butter) and water by our reservation time. Geno even took time away from the kitchen to come to our table to make sure we were happy.
We had a wonder server, Suzanne, that was very attentive and had enough help to keep our table supplied with bread and our water glasses filled. In other words, the service was excellent.
I had never had the mushrooms because, well, they were mushrooms. These were like none I had ever eaten. My first clue should have been that they were served with thinly sliced bread that begged to be dipped in the wonderful garlicky sauce in which they were bathed. That did it. I have a new favorite food.
Anyway, not to get too long winded, the soup and salad that were served with the food were just wonderful. The ravioli that was my side was fantastic. My only regret was that I was too full to eat my Chicken Marsala. Guess I will have it along with the rest of my ravioli for dinner tonight.
If you have not been to the Brick House, 9027 Elk Grove Blvd, #110, give yourself a treat and go. And, no, I am not an owner nor family member.
Took my wife to the Brickhouse for dinner tonight, and both of us were unimpressed. We were expecting something along the line of a steak house or upscale pizza place. What we got was so so italian food at best. The house soup needed more seasoning, the salad was better but they need to not serve canned black olives with it, the entres needed even more help. My wife had the beef short ribs, which could have used a little seasoning but otherwise ok, and her pasta was over done. I had the scampi, the shrimp were over cooked, to much oil and I couldnt taste ANY butter or garlic in it. The service matched the food, so so, but the atmosphere was nice. When we go to a new place we like to give it a chance, but this time we got burned for it. I dont think we will ever go back.
Two stars for the bar. Not much choice in fish or vegetable dishes. My snapper was dry and non-flavorful. The salad was good. Service was great. Just wasn't impressed. If they could get the food up to par with the atmosphere and bar, they might have something. Need a wider selection in food. Healthier options.
I didn't visit the bar area which looked really cool - nice atmostsphere. But they put all your dishes that you will be eating off of on the table before you even order. The food was not very good - ribs were really dry, salad wasn't very good - no choice of dressing except thousand island - yuck. Hopefully they will get better. I wasn't impressed, they were too pricey.
