Ok first of all hi, how are you doing today my friends. Let me start by saying it was finger-licking’ good. Good BBQ with a twist is what I’m talking’ about. The service, smell, and taste made me and my wife lick our fingers clean; our mouths salivate, and make you want to slap your mama good BBQ. Famous Dave's BBQ is a must eat a.s.a.p restaurant. My wife and I visited this establishment because we heard so many great things about this restaurant for their food, service and did I say humor.
On Friday October 31, 2008 we went to famous Dave’s off of 215 and Flamingo (west). The very first thing we noticed as we approached the doors was the cleaver way they informed guests of the opening and closing hours. We opened the door to enter and the hostess greeted us with a smile and seated us right away. In a very prompt manner the waitress greeted us with a warm smile and introduced herself as Terry. Terry asked us if this was our first time and we replied with a hesitant yes. Terry quickly went into a detail demonstration about all the BBQ sauces by squeezing them onto a plate designing a pig’s face. How cute and what a creative intro for some first timers. By the way my favorite sauce was Georgia mustard which is very good on the chicken and fries and my wife loved the house sauce. Terri took our drink orders, informed us of the specials and the two featured FEAST options. Yummy in our tummies... As Terry explained the FEAST for 2 my mouth began to water like a cheating husband in the club, (yeah it was super good), please excuse my humor. As terry was filling the drinks we were sold on the FEAST FOR 2 which included: Ribs (yummy), chicken (yummy), Beef brisket or Georgia chopped pork, fries, corn on the cob (yummy), two mouth watering corn bread muffins and our choice of sides. Sounds like a lot huh…. Yeah right compared to the ALL AMERICAN BBQ FEAST is doubled the size of the FEAST for 2.
Now at this time terry has brought ours drinks, plates and a wooden center piece to the table. I was curious about the wooden center piece so I started to play with it (I know I’m a big kid). Terry in no time brings the platter of food over to our table; as she briskly walks over to the table, I had a very pleasing and indescribable feeling overcome me, as if those ribs with the sauce dripping onto the fries were made specially made for us. The chicken slaps you and then pulls you in slowly with its delicious smell saying eat me… eat me. I haven’t had good BBQ in such a long time that I had to appreciate the wonderful flavors and taste that Famous Dave’s has provided, (sorry I have to stop and take a moment need to keep it clean, wink wink). The food awwwwwwwww was so good the way the meat just melted off the bones and the moist chicken (no dry meat here) was to die for. It is so hard to describe how tender this food was its unbelievable. The service was great from start to finish, we had no problem paying that bill let me tell you. Guess what our bill came to for everything that we had: a $100.00 you say, $75.00 maybe or $50.00. Nope not even close our bill totaled out at with a tip included $63.00. Terry’s tip was based off of the service from beginning to end, food, and the time in all was a grand total of 30 min. WOW I know thirty minutes for all that, it was well worth it. Please check this joint out for great food, great prices and fun.
