Maria Luisa and Oscar Americano Foundation, Sao Paulo

The Maria Luisa and Oscar Americano Foundation was begun in 1974. It was donated by the Americano family to the city of Sao Paulo and holds the family's extensive art collection and a beautiful, large nature park with plenty of native vegetation. It is one of the most important cultural spaces in Sao Paulo today as it gives a taste of the past and present history in Brazil in the areas of architecture, art and nature. Concerts take place in the auditorium every Sunday and different classes relating to art, literature, cinema and the history of art and landscaping happen during the week. The park, tea room and photo gallery can also be enjoyed by visitors.
