Description
The Kuan Yin Temple, dedicated to Kuan Yin Bodhisattva (Goddess of Mercy), is found near the Foster Botanical Garden. Worshippers offer fresh flowers and fruit at the altar and burn paper money for prosperity and luck. The pomelo, pyramid of citrus fruit, is viewed as a symbol of fertility. The Buddhist temple is bright red with a green tile roof and has an ornate, carved interior.
