When we originally moved to Richfield, Amici's immediatley caught our eye as the centerpiece of the town. We went to the Mother's Day Buffet in 2009 and had a good time but felt it was a little overpriced. We did however want to return to try the dinner menu. Even though we live only a few miles away we never returned until tonight, Valentines day 2010. We made an early reservation for 4:30 and arrived on time and were seated promptly. The atmosphere was pleasant except for a few families with crying babies, not exactly the ambiance I was looking for. We briefly glanced over the menu and quickly decided on the Riesling for the wine, The Mushroom cups for the appetizer and a N.Y. strip steak for one entree and Surf & Turf for the other. The wine arrived and was a twist off bottle, not a big deal but for $24.00 a bottle it was a preview of what was to come. Our mushroom cups arrived and while dressed with a very tangy marinara they were clearly made and then frozen, thawed and reheated, In their defense they were only $6.50 and there was 4 of them, half dollar sized so I kind of overlooked it. The salad that we ordered was a little discolored and had croutons thst were so hard and stale I nearly broke a tooth. The broccoli cheese soup came to the table cold and was returned, the breadsticks were cold and stale. Not a good start to say the least. Now I started to worry about my surf and turf that was priced at $37.99. The soup was returned in a now warmer state along with fresh breadsticks. The salad came back sans the croutons. Our entree's came within 30 seconds of the soup and salad reorder. The Asiago mashed potato's were cold and my Lobster tail was luke warm and had clearly not been made fresh. It was tough and chewy and while I got about 4 good size bites out of it, not worth the Big price tag. The sirloin however that accompanied it while only 6oz was AMAZING! tender and perfectly seasoned. cooked exactly the way I like it.. My Fiancee's ny strip was well proportioned and cooked medium as specified, no complaints on her end. Overall I would reccommend sticking to the steaks if you venture in to Amici's and also just as a side note: stay away from the pizza, a couple two tables over ordered it and it did not look appetizing, Undercooked and messy. I don't head you to avoid this charming ristorante, just be careful what you order. I do HIGHLY recommend the crab bisque that is served on Friday's and during the Mother's day buffet it is to die for! Bon Apetite!
