I thought about giving the rating of two stars, but that would not be fair. The restaurant as a whole is okay. The portions are large, the place is clean, the service is pretty good.
However, let's get down to the meat of the matter: barbecue. My wife and I tried the sampler: brisket, pork, and chicken with a few sides.
Chicken: Good, moist, nice flavor.
Pork: Chopped, not pulled. Lacked seasoning, could not taste the smoke. The meat could not stand by itself without the sauce.
Brisket: Cubed, not sliced. That's right, I said cubed. Again, not very smoky, a bit tough, and certainly not enough flavor to stand on its own.
Sauces: The sauces were okay. Nothing great, but not bad. The mustard sauce was probably the best of the three.
Go there, it's okay for around here. However, don't go expecting good southern barbecue true to form.
