Blue Nami - Roseville
After the success of Blue Nami in Orangevale, Joon.B.Cho and his associate Yuji Yokoyama established this outlet in Roseville in 2007. A space elegantly furnished in wood, with Japanese umbrellas and origami artwork hanging from the ceiling, gives this place a charming feel. Apart from the Japanese staple of sushi and sashimi, guests can also feast on teriyaki, tempura, tonkatsu and gyoza (dumplings). Here the presentation of the food, akin to an artistic work, is given great importance. Before you dig in, do take to time to appreciate the efforts taken to prepare the food. This restaurant has won accolades for serving some of the bet sushi in Roseville.
I was suprised that some of the earlier reviews gave this place such a poor rating. Blue Nami is one of my favorite sushi places, it's not too expensive and it has some very creative and unique sushi rolls. I went there again last Saturday and the service was just fine. We were seated immediately, they were glad to let us take our time in ordering, and they brought us our food in a reasonable amount of time. Granted, they did accidentally bring us one of the wrong sushi rolls but they were quick to fix the problem and very apologetic and cordial about it. The ambviance is just beautiful, by far the best of all the local sushi places I've been to. It's true that they don't provide pictures of their sushi rolls but they do provide detailed descriptions of each roll and I suppose such an upscale place expects their patrons to be literate. When they brought the sushi to our table they named each roll so we would know which was which. The sushi itself was fantastic, I recommend the kauai, it was very different and very good. The Blue Nami off of Hazel ave. is rated one of the best sushi places in the Sacramento area and this one is easily just a nice. I'll be going back again soon.
I dont know what you guys think, but I LOVE BLUE NAMI. It is the best Japanese food I have ever had. Awesome Sushi. My Fiancé and I are hook on sushi right now. They got good deals. Awesome prices, can not beat that. I recommend BLUE NAMI to everyone. I celebrated my 20th Birthday there. If yon never had a piece of Japan, you MUST visit BLUE NAMI.
Ohhh. Check out the ceiling. Sick. I love it!
Love this place! My husband and I started going to Blue Nami on Greenback several years back and couldn't wait for the Roseville location to open. The restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere, friendly people and attentive staff. The food is awesome! It is always fresh, innovative and the 50% rolls are a great deal! There usually is a wait but well worth it! Fun for late night evenings too. If you want the same waiter and only one person to wait on you, than this is not the place for you. Personally, with several servers helping each other out, your food comes more quickly, which is nice. It's also kid friendly...
Blue Nami is the most AWKWARD plsce ever. Not only are the staff memebers extremely odd and awkward, but the seating arrangement was cramped and unsatisfactory. The food was good and half off so I can't complain on that part. But we had 3 different servers. The staff was sooo awkward that we felt awkward with how awkward everything was. Do you understand that the service is AWKWARD!? Hiro was captain awkward, but he seems awesome. Go for the food, not for the AWKWARD service!!!
(ZERO STARS) - Customer lost. Bad word of mouth being passed on to all I know.
Blue Nami; three strikes, you're out!
FYI - Each occurred on different visits:
1 - Waitress spilled sauce all over my family and did nothing for us.
2 - Ordered take-away. I arrived on time, and the hostess said it was still being made. After 20 min, she 'found it' behind the counter just sitting there getting stale that entire time! It was soggy and unappetizing by the time I got it home.
3 - The roll we ordered was not good. After a couple bites, we requested another roll but were refused. What kind of restaurant tells me eat it or don't eat it, but you are paying no matter what?!?
This was a very good restaurant! My husband and I went there for a night out and the food was amazing!!! There was a ton of people there, but they got us right in. The customer service was great as well, we will be going there again.
This is by far my wife and my favorite sushi restaurant in the Greater Sacramento area. The staff are always nice and friendly to us and they have some very creative dishes. I have introduced some of my SF and LA friends to this place and they have been going back whenever they are in town for their river rafting trips or ski trips. My wife just brought one of her girlfriends visiting from LA there twice over the last weekend.
Recently, they are having 50% off some of their rolls and that is great for us.
Thank you for always giving us great dining experiences.
I agree with all the other reviews..this place is awful and horrid. I would never take my family here if they can't apply good customer service skills to a party of 3 how would they handle a party of 4 or more.. It takes a lifetime to get your food and the sushi menu doesnt have pictures just a bunch of writing with every roll consisting of almost the same thing..not to mention they dont provide pictures so you dont know what your eating..the management is yelling at employees infront of customers and the refills on our drinks took so long and my sisters and I look around and a bunch of waitres are just standing by the register talking and laughing.. Our server was danielle and she had an attitude because we could not decide on what we wanted to eat..and i agree servers are constantly coming up to you asking you the same questions over and over again and you can't enjoy a peaceful meal..as many times as they came up to us to ask if everything was ok they did not put ice in our waters and would just refill it with no ice....do not eat here if you are expecting good customer service
