Very disappointed with this location. The servers are not very friendly and every time we have been there is a problem with the bill and we usually end up walking away on the losing end of the deal. It's worth it to drive to the Porter Ranch location where the service is much more friendly and customer service oriented.
I just went to Musashi with my family, a party of 4 on July 8, 2010. We love Japanese food. This was our first time in the restaurant. They sat us down and it took them 35 minutes for them to finally come to our table. There were only two other parties in the whole restaurant! When the waitress came, KAY, she was very cold and unfriendly. She was very short with her answers and had sarcastic undertones. A waitress should never have an attitude with customers, especially if they're new, and especially if they were patient like us. We finally had to leave after we asked a question about the menu and she gave us the worst attitude.
I would never recommend going to this restaurant in Simi Valley.
Do not go here! They wouldn't honor the birthday coupon we had for my husbands 40th birthday party. We had $100 of sushi ordered and they said we needed to order 4 dinner items for the coupon to be honored. That is not on the coupon!!! We got our check and walked out on the terribly rude staff and manager! Ban Musashi's. It's empty already and there's a reason for that.
Worst service ever. After waiting 45 minutes for our waitress to come by to refill our waters, we grabbed another waiter who told us that our waitress had probably forgotten about us. Thanks. Food was so-so. I don't know why they can't get themselves together to run a decent establishment. It was a 2 and a half hour fiasco.
WARNING, do not mistake Musashi for a restaurant!! I beg you, do not eat at Musashi, Simi Valley or any of the other locations for that matter!!! If I could give negative stars I would. Food - marginal at best, Teppan chef- good, “Management”(term used loosely) -----HORRIFIC, HORRIBLE, AWFUL,TERRIBLE, RUDE , INSULTING….I’m sure you get the point. All this over $6.00. False advertising when it comes to coupons and or discounts. Buy one entre get one of equal or lesser value free. Seems pretty straight forward right? Wrong. If you have a coupon or entertainment card, be prepared for them to MAYBE remove the fried rice saving you a whopping $2.50. Then to be insulted by the “Manager” only made things worse. Apparently I am not the only one who feels this way according to all the negative reviews. Please go to Cho Cho San or Ken of Japan, heck might as well go to Panda Express for better service. Even if the owner tried to make things right by giving me the world, I would not step foot in Musashi Simi again. A copy of this review is also going to everyone in my address book that lives in Simi. Hope it was worth the $6.00 dollars. Never again.
Have been to Musashi Simi Valley twice now. Food is okay, service is so-so. They do not have a good white sauce as other teppan places do. Probably will not go back. Ken of Japan is a friendlier environment and the better option IMO.
Everything I ordered was fresh and tasty but this place is expensive. It was clean but the staff was arrogant and rude as if we were lucky to be there. Spent over $80 on just food (no alcohol) for two people and left hungry. There are better sushi restuarants with more reasonable prices so I will not be returning to Musashi.
We've been eating at the Northridge and Porter Ranch Musashis for years and were thrilled when one opened in Simi. However, as many others have noted, the service here is abysmal at best. We took friends out for dinner there and the waitress put down the hot bowl of soup right in front of my 14-month old son. He spilled it all over himself and got burned. No one ever apologized or even asked how he was. When we confronted the manager he was horribly rude and said he would give us dinner for free IF we left right then and did not complain anymore. We've gone there since just because we've had such good luck with the other Musashi's and while no one got burned, we did wait a long time for the check and the food has been over-cooked. They really need to fire most of the staff, especially management, and start over again.
I went there with my boyfriend and some of his friends. We were seated right away and the service was great. Our cook could not have been any better! It was a fun night out for everyone. In fact we're going again for his birthday.
