Back Forty is a restaurant in New York that serves traditional American Cuisine. Complementing the authentic menu are the earthy interiors with a lot of wooden furnishings and even some farmhouse tools. The ambiance here is quite homely and the prices aren't all too steep either. The place serves some excellent cuisine, some of the stand-outs being the "Maine-shrimp-and-bacon beignets" and "Catskills trout". There are other simple but savory delicacies as well, including the cauliflower gratin and even the slightly spicy roast chicken. There are some regular alcoholic beverages but one could also experiment with the ice cream float.
Both Hostess and manager are extremely rude and should not be in the restaurant business. They have absolutely no people skills and considering that the food is terrible you would think that they would compensate in some way. Their so called popular crab boil is overpriced and salty. There are far too many great restaurant in NYC to have to put up with the nonsense of the staff and poor food quality. I would never go back!!!!!!
Pretty decent burgers but the service seemed slow. (it was a busy thursday night) but we waited a good 10-15 minutes before anyone even ackowledged we were there. Good lighting, good vibe, but not sure if I would go back.
