This is a nice little place with good Cuban food. The some of the cafeteria style items suffer from that approach - the rice and the plantains, in particular.
The Ropa Vieja, Picadillo Criollo, the Lechon Asado, and the Masas de Poerco are all solid, if not spectacular. The plantains are pretty good if you get there early, otherwise they get soggy. Both the black and red beans are very tasty.
I am one of those that does not care for their version of the classic Cuban sandwich (they have a small one and a large one), and I am very familiar with it having eaten many in southern florida. I prefer the pan con bistec, which is excellent, and the bread there is perfect.
They use authentic items here, and the owner makes frequent trips to south Florida to load up items that will travel well. Might want to give this place a shot.
