Ordered large cheese pizza and two calzones. They call themselves NEW YORK STYLE well i'm from ny and this is far from it. The calzones were like frisbees and had no ricotta even in them. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE CALZONES PIZZZA WAS AVERAGE.
I recently moved here from another state and came here on curiosity, as I know some smaller pizza places have excellent food. I've never actually eaten in there so I can't comment about the service dining in. The couple of times I've been there for carryout, the service was very good, didn't wait that long for the food, and the pizza was outstanding. Great food, good service. If you're going to order delivery, be prepared to repeat yourself a couple of times, the one time I have ordered by phone I repeated my address and order a couple times, but that could also be because my address is a little hard to say on the phone.
Overall, as before, great pizza, good service, only complaint so far is that the prices are rather high for a pizza place, close to $20 just for a small one topping pizza. Other than that, if you can stomach the price, I'd say it's a good place to go.
Unbelievable NY Style Pizza....There's a reason Johnny has won multiple competitions with his pizza.
Great for the entire family... If you want a real treat try the Caprese. It's his own twist of italian caprese. It's phenomenal !!!! My wife and I lived in Italy for 3 years (tre ani) and this is totally comparable, if not better! Sorry Italia!!
Get out there and try it, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
We LOVE this place.
Ambiance: Hole-in-the-wall variety with festive NYC decor. There are about 10 tables plus the bar area, but you can almost always find a spot. Simple and straight-forward. Kid friendly. A great place for a casual dinner.
Food: Fantastic. Not uber gourmet -- it's pizza! But it's fantastic pizza. Very straight-forward. Simple is good. Cheese pizza sounds plain, but it's SO GOOD! Moe's special has sun dried and fresh tomatoes, red onion, fresh basil, and feta - very good. I also am a fan of the white pizza with spinach. The veggie pizza has so many toppings you can claim it as health food. Pizza is available by the slice or pie. Soup is homemade with fresh veggies. Entrees are always wonderful and amply sized. Salads are good. Cheesesteak is seriously good!
Cost: Pizza slices are about $3, depending on the variety; 1-2 slices is plenty. Entrees are about $12. Soup about $5. A large specialty pizza can run you $20+, but it's good and goes a long way.
Another note: Valentinos Pizza on Beauregard in Landmark is owned by Johnny (and I think a partner). It's been around longer. We used to go there all the time and were thrilled when Johnny's opened closer to our house. Haven't been back since, but they at least used to have a larger menu, even bigger pizzas, and slightly lower prices. Johnny's has a cozier atmosphere and seems a bit more relaxed.
