When I say NEVER- I mean it .....
Been there 3 too many times and calling it a quit. I wish if you only knew how Indian food should taste like. Lack of better choice- you will still be there and think you had some Indian food....Oh well...you might as well go to Taco bell and think you are in Mexico. I won't mind if they were using microwave instead of a Clay Pot Tandoor...but Basil leaves in Biriyani? You might as well go to Friddie and get some canned Indian food and Naan and be honest to your tastebuds. I think if I feed this food to a Native American Indian- even they will feel offended...I hope you got the point by now- Yes-it's that bad and Non-Authentic !
I have been to Chutneys three times, the service and food has gotten better with each subsequent visit. The hostess is very friendly and is willing to accommodate any special requests. We eat gluten free, she patiently explained all of the gluten free items on the menu. I am glad to see that this place is catching on.
We had some friends visiting us from Bay area, decided to try Chutneys this time. We are so glad we did, the food and ambiance was phenomenal. The place was fairly busy for a Thursday. Our friends kept talking about this restaurant for hours after we got back. We tried Goa Chicken, Lamb Chops, Chana masal and garlic naan.
EXCELLENT. This is great weekend date place. The ambiance is perfect and the food is outstanding. The best part is that I do not have to look for hot pepper sign next to menu items, they will make any dish to your taste. I was little confused before but it is now on the menu. I like it HOT and it is made that way. Goa shrimp is awesome.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL!! The service was horrible, the food was cold and stale. My husband and me ordered our entrees at the same time and mine arrived 20 minutes later after he was done and the food was tastless. Being of Indian descent I recommend going to Namaste for hospitality and authentic cuisine/flavors and resonable price!!
