Looking for a restaurant that serves good raw fish in the West side of Indianapolis. We heard there was a good place in Avon. We used Google to find the name and location of the restaurant. Hirosaki Japanese Restaurant turned out to be very close to where we live. We arrived at the place around 6:15pm. The place was starting to get busy. We were going to get take out, but decided to go to the Sushi Bar. We were served quite quickly. We ordered a Sushi platter which we shared and a Tuna roll. The fish was fresh and the service was very good.
Wow! This place may be great but I really wouldn't know. I called to seek information concerning coupons they may have out. My son's 21st birthday is this Sunday and I wanted to bring my family for dinner to their establishment. When asking about coupons the person answering the phone stated that they have some in the entertainment book. I said great and wanted to know where to purchase one. She really had no idea. She told me to try searching the Internet, but also said they did not have a website. She said they had a coupon in the entertainment book if I could find it, but really didn't know how to direct me. She also claimed she was the manager. Wow! She cut me off and hung up on me. This was definitely not an invitational purpose. I wouldn't go there now if they paid me to.
Had a wonderful time there for a birthday dinner with family & friends, the service was wonderful and so were the chefs. We had 2 tables and we were all amazed by the tricks and the way they prepare the food right there with no mistakes. Will go there again.
After having eaten here once before at the habachi and ordering shrimp tampura rolls a few times, we decided to go for the lunch hibachi chicken (well priced at 5.99) and we were asked if we wanted sushi or an appetizer. I was unaware there is an appetizer Shrimp tampura as well as a sushi roll. When the waitress brought out the soup she brought both parties at our table the same basket of breaded things. Unaware that this was the tampura i had apparenlty ordered we assumed it was part of the meal as both us and the others recieved the same thing. we ate it (it wasn't bad) when i inquired as to what it was i was informed it was the shrimp tampura. I informed the waitress EMILY that this is not what i had ordered and was told that since i had been there previously i should know that was what i was ordering when i explained to EMILY that it is not my job to know the menu but hers, she became very rude and argumentitive telling me that basically there was nothing she would or could do to rectify the situation and that i could speak to a manager. When the manager came i informed her of the problem, luckily she made things right by having my roll made. I have eaten at many places and have never witnessed let alone been the target of a verbal attack by any wait staff in all my years of dining. EMILY should not be in the service industry in any way other than maybe a cook. Telling a customer they are wrong is breaking the cardinal rule of the service industry. Very dissatisfied with her. The food however is amazing and the rest of the staff is more than capable of serving you in a way you should be served. Unfortunately I will never again visit this establishment due to the disrespect i recieved from EMILY, which im sad to say as i do love their food, and the prices are very reasonable. If you do visit this place buyer beware know the menu study it or you'll be left with the blame if your order is wrong, good luck with your visit! Service aside(food quality, atmosphere) 5 stars unfortunately with the service we recieved, 2 stars is generous, VERY GENEROUS!
My fiance and I went there together for a date night on a saturday. We had delicious Miso Soup (some of the best I've ever had) and the Gyoza for our starters. The Gyoza was much crispier than what I've had in the past, but it was delicious, so no complaints there! We ordered some sushi for our meal and was VERY satisfied. The Las Vegas Roll (a spicy jalapeno based specialty roll they serve) is AMAZING! So creamy and spicy all at once! Amazing! So... we were hanging around on Sunday, and decided to go back for Lunch! The second time (in two days) was just as good as the first! I really enjoy the food, the only thing that is lacking to me is the fact that there are TVs in the dining room! Maybe I'm being picky, but I really think that lacks a lot of class. If you don't mind Two and A Half Men leering at your dinner, then this is the place to go!
Food is astounding
Have and awesome coy pond in lobby
TVs in dining room
The sushi and hibachi is great here. The atmosphere is great too. Unfortunately, the two out of three times I have eaten here we have had the same waiter who I found to be rude. He rushed us out more than two times and dropped the check right after we had gotten our meal. I only will go back because there are not sushi restaurants on every block like the city that we just moved from but if there were more options I would never go back. I like to enjoy my sushi and eat slowly. My husband and I both work in the restaurant industry and usually have patience for bad service but this service was so blatantly rude that it is really inexcusable. I hope that this guy gets fired because he is really bad for buisness and I would hate for the place to close down. I am looking forward to eating there often.
This place is excellent! My family and I go there often! It is very clean! Food is excellent! The atmosphere is perfect and fun for all! My kids love it! I recommend to everyone! They also have great specials.
