we took our daughter here for her birthday.. her matini on ice equaled 2 sips, not 2 swallows. my vodka tonic glass was also to the top with ice.. Drinks are very short. Now to the food! The rib-eye steak was pitiful.Thin and dried out. It came in 2 ragged pieces.3 tiny pieces of asparagus? Please! The haddock (maybe 4 ounces) was served on a white plate with rosotto and a tiny slice of lemon and a smaller sprig of greenery. No eye appeal here.We did have a good slice of cake for dessert. The meal was in no way worth the 180.00 ,with tip, that we dropped there .
I think this place is so overrated. The food is okay and the service is lacking. The atmosphere is nice, but it doesn't make up for everything else. I've given it a few tries, but I won't go back again.
We go to Christopher's on a fairly regular basis (2 or more times per month). While the food is consistently good, the service is severely lacking. We typically sit at the bar and the two regular bartenders rarely give a smile or make you feel welcome. Last weekend we sat in a recently vacated spot and the bartender (who was eating her dinner and chatting at a corner table in the bar) served us drinks without wiping down the bartop or even clearing the leftover glass from the previous customer. As we ate our dinners, the second bartender stood to take orders from another couple at the bar and drank a soda as they ordered. These are just two examples of the truely unprofessional service I have experienced while visiting Christopher's. The exception is two times I have been there and Hannah has waited on us and she has been perfect, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The bartenders could take some lessons from her. The last thing a customer should feel is that they are inconviencing the servers by coming in to eat in a restaurant. I would give the restaurant 4 stars but the service only gets 1 star, thus my 3.
My fiance & I LOVE Christopher's. The atmosphere is great. This place has gotten busier since we started going. i think they should consider an expansion because obviosly they are doing something right. the wait can be longer (as any place is) on saturday nights around 6ish (as mentioned below). But well worth it. The steaks are amzing! the portions are great! For a romantic night best to avoid the middle 2 person tables; but otherwise everything is great. Bring an appetite & prepare to be amazed. Delicious! Oh and don't forget to talk to Christopher the chef as he regularly walks around & asks how your meal is!!
Went to Christopher's with another couple for dinner, wait time was reasonable for 4 people at 6:30pm on a Saturday and drinks were good. Prices are good, didn't feel like I overpaid for what I received. The only negative was my NY Sirloin, although cooked just as I asked (med rare), wasn't very flavorful--a few spices or a bit of demi-glace would've made it five stars (and I'm a true steak lover!). A friend got the filet mignon which came with a sauce on the side and that was absolutely delicious, as were the other two entrees. Chocoloate cake/torte dessert was to die for, even on a full stomach. Everything else, service, atmosphere, bar area, etc., was excellent! Will definitely go back!
