Ichiro Hibachi & Sushi, West Hartford

I seem to be in the minority here but a friend and myself stumbled upon this place by accident one night and I have to say the waitress Norma was very friendly and attentive and the food was superb.We had shrimp tempura,miso soup,some kind of teriyaki steak tips or something and then came this huge platter of sushi and sashimi.It was very fresh and very well presented and the best part was that the prices were very reasonable.I liked it very much and will definitely go back someday.

Ordered takeout from Ichiro after getting a menu in the mail. It was the first and last time I will ever eat food from this restaurant. The staff was friendly, the food was made quickly, well packaged and was still hot when I got it home. Unfortunately, the food was terrible -- really terrible. I can't remember the last time I had such bad food from a restaurant.

THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC! Last night I took a friend there for her Bday and when she asked for tofu in her hibachi...they said they would work on it...knowing it was her bday I have a suspicion they went to Wild Oats to pick it up!!! This is the best service I have ever gotten! The food is AMAZING! I recommend the peanut avocado roll and the black dragon roll! You must check this place out if you enjoy trying new sushi places in the area!

I am reading the reviews to Ichiro and was very sad to see such things written. As a West Hartford resident, I was a big fan of Osaka's when it was open and sad to see it close. But when Ichiro opened, it was such a nice place that replace the old fashion restaurant very nicely and I loved this place ever since it opened. Everyone inside was very nice and the food is just as good, if not better than any other Japanese restaurant I have been to. The sushi was very nicely put together and the hibachi had very good food and as well as a very entertaining show. My kids from 9 all the way to 22 all loved the hibachi as well as my 45 year old husband. It is a place to go for all ages and any kind of food preferance. If you don't like fish, have steak. If you don't like anything raw, then there is a kitchen menu. Two of my kids are very picky but they cannot find anything to complain about at Ichiro. We all absolutely love the place. It is just beautiful inside as everyone was so friendly. I have been a regular customer since it opened and I will continue to eat there. Those of you who do not come and try it out, you are missing out on a spectacular treat.

I went to hibachi for a friend's birthday party and had a good time. The chefs were awesome. Put on a good show for us. They even squirted sake in our mouths. I highly recommend this restaurant for families or friends: if you want to have a good time at dinner, or birthday party, or anniversary!

The restaurant looks all right, and food is ok, but just found a news about the Ichiro in Trumbull, CT on internet, the owner was found guilty to steal the gas from from Southern Ct Gas, and dumping the grease to the river? does any one know if they are same ownership? If that is true, probably I won't go back there again, If they were willing to break the law to save money, think about what they are capable of doing to save a few bucks on the food you were eating. Plus I don't want them to do something bad to our enviorment too. I think they do a great job at both Sushi and Hibcahi. Wish them well, since they've obviously dumped a huge amount of $$$ in the place. Great location, great redo of the interior. Osaka was tired and in need of a facelift, so this is welcome to me.

Excellent and Fun Hibachi and Sushi place. Food is delicious!!!! We enjoyed the restaurant because the owner introduced themselves and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The hibachi was extremely delicious and the chef's really put on a great show. There is a large improvement from the Japanese Restaurant that was there before. I am excited to see how it turns out over the years.

Rotten Time won't go back the food was so..so.. and the service was comical when you tell a waitress this isn't what you ordered and she pleads with you to just take the dish or else she will have to pay for it. What do you do???? I happily took what she made me and paid my bill. But I won't be back any time soon. Ben Goldberg
