This great restaurant offers a superb selection of Swiss dishes, drinks and hospitality, with the menu written in Swiss-German dialect. Yes, there are cowbells on the wall! Lovingly looked after and with room for a sizeable crowd, this is a great place for parties. The food is very meat-based but the chef is more than willing to cook up strictly vegetarian dishes. The fondue sets are the highlight, priced around the HK$150 mark. Again, most are meat based, but ask for a special concoction and your wish will be granted.
This is a well-executed example of truly national cuisine in Hong Kong. The decor, the menu, the cheerful atmosphere, the imported beer and Swiss products, all add up to an excellent dining experience that makes one feel he has had a brief holiday away from Hong Kong. Highly recommended for a date night spot for local residents or a break from the hustle and bustle just outside the door in TST for tourists.
The prices have risen slightly, so fondue is now above the "HK$150 range" indicated in the base information on this site, but the value remains intact. Two people can eat fondue, appetizers, drinks, for around HK$800 and up. Service was a bit slow with our drinks, but certainly friendly and professional. We will be making a return visit for sure.
This is the OTHER Swiss restaurant in HK, also in TST like Chesa. Of course, it's a lot more "homey" since, unlike Chesa, it is not in a 5-star hotel.
There are a lot of choices for fondue and raclette. In fact, a lot more than being offered in Chesa. The food is excellent and it's always nice to be offered unlimited servings of raclette.
The only downside is that service is a bit slow. Or maybe it was because we sat in the corner booth next to the door, away from the rest of the diners...
I would certainly go back the next time I have a cheese craving...
